Solar Project Development Intern - San Leandro, CA
DRI Energy is a national solar services company headquartered in Irvine, California. Its sister company, Lumeta™ (www.lumetasolar.com), is a developer of award-winning building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) products. Relying on this experience, DRI Energy specializes in providing solar energy installations, lighting retrofit, daylighting, and other services that dramatically reduce its customers’ energy usage and costs.
DRI Energy occupies an exciting and rapidly expanding presence in the energy services industry. The Solar Project Development Intern will report to DRI Energy’s Executive Vice President and focus on assisting in the identification, evaluation and structuring of solar projects to be constructed in cities throughout the western United States. This internship is paid and work will be based in the Company’s San Leandro, California office.

Primary Responsibilities:
Sales and Marketing:
1. Aid in the market segmentation and identification of the top US solar markets 2. Develop the sales and marketing strategy for reaching the highest potential markets a. Tools and messaging for the direct sales organization b. Design and build webinar and email marketing programs c. Identify top tradeshows and work to include DRI into their speaking opportunities 3. Develop selling tools for customers a. Customer reference program b. Develop the proactive proposal process c. Develop customer case studies d. Direct sales to new customers
Financial:
1. Aid in developing the financial models for key customer segments 2. Develop ROI tools for customer proposals 3. Develop optimal PPA and Lease programs
Technical:
1. Design PV arrays for ground and rooftop systems 2. Help in the electrical designs for ground and rooftop solutions
Required Qualifications:
- MBA student preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Solid analytic ability and proficiency in MS Office software
- Well organized with good attention to detail
- A strong desire to learn and contribute to improving our company
- Ability to balance work and school, set realistic expectations and meet them
- Insatiable curiosity and a sense of humor
